VinaPhone, cooperating withAgriMedia, launched service called “Nong Thon Xanh” (Green Countryside) for agriculture and weather.

By registered one or many fee packages, mobile users will receive news from AgriMedia on agriculture consultation (technique, market, and price) on each agriculture commodity: rice, coffee, pepper, cashew nut, rubber, shrimp, fish and weather warning.

To join this service, users send a message with syntax: “DK-Name of service” to 1595. There are different service packages including: LUA (rice package, 5000 VND/week); TIEU, DIEU, CS, CF, TOM, and CA (pepper, cashew nut, rubber, coffee, shrimp, fish package, respectively) with price of 7000 VND/week. The service is free for the first time using. The weather warning package is at the price of 10000 VND/month. According to VinaPhone, the weather warning system is based on data from smart weather station-iMetos. This weather station provides information and warning on 8 weather figures: temperature, humility, the amount of rainfall, sun radiation, wind speed, wind direction, air pressure, leaf wetness with customized transference frequency, ranging from 10 to 120 minutes. Furthermore, iMetos system also provides weather forecast, epidemic and disaster warning, rainfall and rain time, extreme temperature (hot, cold, extremely cold, adversely cold, and frost) in real time by sending SMS to mobile users.
