On 14th June 2016, VCIC held its 1st Awarding Ceremony – Vietnam Climate Innovation Start-ups at Melia Hotel, Hanoi aimed to award the 19 startups that graduated from the 2014 VCIC Bootcamp with financial support and incubation services.

High-level officials of the Vietnamese government and the international community participated in the ceremony, including Mr. Chu Ngọc Anh, Minister of Science and Technology, and Mr. Achim Fock, WB Acting Country Director for Vietnam.

The awarded enterprises were categorized into 3 groups: Incubation Group, Commercialization Group and Acceleration Group. Each of them will have access to financial support as well as other incubation services provided by VCIC such as consultancy by international and domestic expert, mentoring, training and other promoting activities to commercialize their products, etc.

iMetos Vietnam Project, founded by Center of Precision Agriculture iMetos Vietnam (CPAIV) cooperating with AgriMedia., JSC, was awarded with Incubation Prize. iMetos Vietnam Project is about using automatic climate weather station of iMetos technology and creating Information connection software, forecast and automatic warning on weather, pests for agriculture and local communities and actively respond to climate change and sub-regional disaster reduction.

Director of iMetos Vietnam Project-Associate Professor Mai Quang Vinh, Chairman of AgriMedia, believes that with the support from VCIC and Ministry of Science and Technology, the project will be soon commercialized to help millions of farmers and agriculture enterprises in Vietnam.
